Improv Everywhere surprised a random couple sitting on a bench in Central Park with a fancy dinner and a private concert by a wind quintet.

One of my favorite IE missions of all time.
Improv Everywhere filled a New York park with eight sets of identical quadruplets, creating a surreal experience for anyone who happened to be walking through the park.
This mission is a sequel to our Human Mirror mission from 2008 where we had fifteen pairs of identical twins on the same subway car.

Ran into Improv Everywhere while they were filming this. Weird stuff.
UPDATE: April fools, ya fools. It’s all CGI. We’re living in the Matrix!
Dear Apple: Please do this every time my computer crashes.
In Improv Everywhere’s latest mission, a presenter at the TED conference has his talk interrupted by the Mac spinning wait cursor, commonly known as the “Spinning Beach Ball of Death.” As he stands awkwardly and waits, things get weird.

Our first Improv Everywhere mission of the year! For full effect, watch it without your pants on.
Here is the official video for this year’s No Pants Subway Ride. Nearly 4,000 people rode the New York City subway in their underwear in the middle of winter. This was the 11th annual ride, and it also happened in 59 other cities around the world in 27 countries.
No Pants Subway Ride 2k11 this Sunday!
Wait a second… writing “2k” is worthless, isn’t it? I might as well have written 2012. Would’ve saved so much time if I had only written a 0 instead of a “k” as I wouldn’t have needed to write this paragraph of explanation as to why I should be writing 0 instead of “k”.
Also, if you haven’t funded Matt Adam’s Kickstarter for an Improv Everywhere doc, watch the segment above! It’s great! That’s how great the entire doc will be if it gets funded!
Happy 2012, ya dingos.
To celebrate 10 years of The No Pants Subway Ride, director Matt Adams made this video telling the story of the very first event in 2002. It features an interview with a woman who was on the train that day and wound up being the star of the video. This footage was shot as part of a documentary Adams is making about Improv Everywhere, which you can support on Kickstarter.
The 2012 No Pants Subway Ride is this Sunday in New York and dozens of other cities around the world.
Improv Everywhere: MP3 Experiment 8
As 2011 comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting upon the fun things I worked on this year. Kicking off the nostalgia trip comes July 16th’s Improv Everywhere MP3 Experiment 8. I co-produced and shot it, and had 8 days to edit the hour-long 9-camera experience into one 6-minute video. ’Twas intense, and I still wish I had one more day to finesse it, but I’m happy with the finished product. The dumb push in transition that comes in at 3:50 will forever make me giggle.
Bonus: The BBC interviewed Charlie and I about it (my first video interview ever).
Related/unrelated: If you’ve got some spare dough and support Improv Everywhere, please consider donating to Matt Adam’s Kickstarter campaign for a feature length Improv Everywhere documentary.
Matt Adams is trying to make a feature length documentary about Improv Everywhere, but needs dough to do it. Please support the cause, so that this awesome trailer yeast can turn into documentary bread.
These guys have helped me a lot through my career, and I’d love to see this thing come to fruition. FRUIT-ITION.
Okay, that’s not even a pun. But I’m hungry and love Improv Everywhere.
Matt Adams has started a Kickstarter campaign to complete the documentary he’s making about Improv Everywhere. To kick off the campaign, Matt created a teaser for the film, embedded above. Enjoy! And if you can help him out, donate to the project. There are lots of great rewards for donors.
Catch me fulfilling my lifelong dream of being a lectern mover in the latest Improv Everywhere video, “Say Something Nice”.
(Actually, I still don’t know the difference between lectern and podium).
For Improv Everywhere’s latest project, random New Yorkers were given the opportunity to “Say Something Nice.”

Improv Everywhere’s MP3 Experiment 8
Staying up until the wee hours of the night editing this provided me with many delirious laughs. My two favorites:
1:42 - dude being a great sport, awkwardly dancing alone
3:50 - really stupid zoom in
New Improv Everywhere video: 3,500 people listening to the same mp3 file simultaneously by the Hudson River.
